What do missed calls cost your firm?

Put in your own numbers. The total is arithmetic on the three boxes, worked out on this page.

Starts at 5, an example: count yours from your phone’s missed-call log. For scale, 35% of calls to law firms go unanswered, in business hours.1

Starts at 7%, the share of personal injury leads that reach a scheduled consultation.2 Not every consultation signs, so put your own rate.

Starts at $5,000, an example, not a statistic: put your firm’s own average fee.

$91,000

in fees a year from those missed calls: calls a week × 52 × the share × the fee

$149

a month for Intake Gateway ($1,788 a year), every answered call included

What lands in your inbox

After every call except one we are confident is spam, an email with the facts: a hot case named in the subject line, who called, the conflict check if you connected Clio, the summary and the intake.

Never the recording or the transcript. Those stay behind your sign-in, so a summary you forward cannot carry a caller’s voice out with it.

This firm has not switched workers’ compensation on, so an injury at work is one of the kinds the agent takes down in full and does not qualify, and nothing is booked.

An AI, and open about it

What callers hear, and what it will not do.

  • Every call opens with a fixed disclosure, sent as the agent’s opening line rather than composed on the call: the caller is speaking with an AI assistant and not an attorney, the call is recorded and transcribed, staying on the line is consent, and anyone who would rather not be recorded can hang up.
  • It answers whenever you route calls to it: only after hours, only when you don't answer, or all the time. You decide by how you forward your number with your carrier, and you can change that at any time.
  • It is instructed never to give legal advice, quote a fee of its own or promise representation, and to pass those questions to the attorney.
  • The intake runs in English, and in Spanish if you switch it on, at no extra cost.
  • After every call except one we are confident is spam, an email with the facts. Never the recording or the transcript: those stay behind your sign-in.

The exact disclosure wording, word for word

Not a message-taker

A generic AI receptionist takes a message. This one runs your intake.

Real personal injury qualification

Any kind of injury, not just crashes: what happened and when, injuries and treatment, who is responsible, whether an adjuster has already called. Then the questions that only matter for what actually happened — a police report for a crash, how long the hazard had been there for a fall, who owns the dog, whether they still have the product. Asked as a conversation, not read as a form.

Urgent cases offered a live transfer

A fatality, anything involving a city or a public body, an adjuster pushing for a recorded statement, evidence about to disappear: the agent recognizes the signs and offers to put the caller through to you live, in the hours you allow transfers. When it is unsure, it offers the transfer.

A callback promised, or a consultation booked or requested

Every routine caller is told the office will call them back, and gives the time that suits them. Connect a calendar and the agent books an ordinary case's consultation instead, from your real availability, while the caller is still on the phone, or requests one where your calendar asks you to confirm.

Pricing

One plan. Every answered call included.

One plan, $149 a month, every answered call included. Fair use is a guide of up to 100 answered calls a month for one firm’s own line, not a cap: nothing meters your calls or cuts them off at that number. If you are consistently and substantially above it, we may get in touch to agree terms that fit that volume, and if we cannot agree any, the Terms of Service let either side end the plan.

Intake Gateway

Questions

What firms ask about an AI receptionist.

How is it different from a generic AI receptionist?

A generic AI receptionist takes a message. This one runs a personal-injury intake: what happened and when, the injuries and treatment, who is responsible, whether an adjuster has already called, and the questions that only matter for that kind of case. Urgent cases are offered a live transfer to you, in the hours you allow transfers. Connect Clio and it checks conflicts while the caller is on the line; connect a Cal.com calendar and an ordinary case’s consultation is booked, or requested where your calendar asks you to confirm, instead of promised a callback.

Will it sound like a robot?

No menu, no recording, no “press one”. It is a modern AI voice holding a conversation, and it talks the way the sample call reads: one open question first, then one question at a time, reading names and numbers back before it moves on.

It does not pretend to be a person, either. Its fixed opening tells the caller they are speaking with an AI assistant, and if a caller asks whether they are talking to a real person, it says it is not, straight away.

Read the whole sample call

Does it replace my receptionist?

Only if you want it to. It answers whenever you route calls to it: only after hours, only when you don’t answer, or all the time. Forwarding only after hours means you keep answering in the day and your agent takes nights and weekends.

Can it give legal advice, or quote fees?

No. It gathers facts, screens and schedules. It does not evaluate the merits, quote a fee of its own, or promise representation, and no engagement letter is sent from a call.

What happens if it gets a call wrong?

Sometimes it will — a name misheard, a detail missed, a call judged routine that you would have called urgent. So it is built to fail towards you rather than away from you.

It reads each name, number and email back before moving on, and a name or email it still cannot confirm is flagged as unconfirmed in the summary rather than passed off as right. When a call could be urgent, it treats it as urgent: it offers the caller a transfer to you if you allow transfers at that hour, and the call is flagged either way. And it never tells a caller you do not handle something, so a case you would take is not turned away on a guess.

Each call’s recording and transcript are in your dashboard, kept on a fixed schedule measured from the call unless you place a legal hold on it, so you can hear what was actually said rather than rely on the summary. None of this is a guarantee, and the Terms say so: the callback, and the judgment, stay yours.

Does it handle Spanish-speaking callers?

Yes, from launch, at no extra cost. You switch Spanish on yourself — it is off until you do, and the setting asks you to turn it on only if someone at your firm can follow up with a Spanish-speaking client. An intake we take in Spanish is no use to a caller your office then cannot talk to. How Spanish works
